Job Description

 

Job Summary:

Be respectful of children and parents, and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. Will oversee educational and curriculum within the daycare. Provide primary teacher with support by assisting students in daily lesson. Assist the Lead Teacher as instructed.

Responsibilities and Duties

At all times, provides all children with a safe, healthy, nurturing, engaging, enjoyable, and secure learning environment, indoors and outdoors.

Assist staff with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.

Report any suspect abuse to supervisor

Values and demonstrates appreciation of each child’s family and cultural background as well as each child as a unique individual.

Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy.

Develop meaningful and respectful relationships and communication with parents and other family members.

Work effectively as part of a team with all other staff members.

Maintain confidentiality.

Attend in-service and staff meetings.

Meet all applicable licensing regulations.

Perform all tasks assigned so long as they are keeping with the mission, purposes and goals of the agency.

Education, Knowledge and Skills:

Education - High school diploma or GED required. Must have at least one year’s experience working with young children in group setting. Must have Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or working towards credential.

Skills - Have excellent communication and people skills. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish helpful. Detail oriented and dependable. Skills in classroom management. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a non-profit setting.
