Captain Diehl, President of the Greater Houston Port Bureau, will discuss the mix of vessels calling on the port, the factors that influence their decision to call here, what impact the Panama Canal expansion may have on us and the challenges the Port faces. The presentation will start with a virtual flyover of the Houston Ship Channel, showing in real time how they are tracking ships and orchestrating over 20,000 vessel movements a year. HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE--- “The YWCA of Houston provides meals to more than 2000 senior citizens a day. The weekends and holidays are when seniors become the most vulnerable and may miss a meal or have no meal at all. Please support our seniors this holiday season by donating a non-perishable item that will be used to make a food box to be distributed among our 800 homebound seniors.”
